FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
It's always a good idea to wear something you feel great in. If you feel great, you will look great! If it helps, get a little advice from your friends or feel free to contact me for further advice. Make sure you feel comfortable in your outfit and remember to stay true to your personality. Choose 2 - 5 colours for everyone to stick to and make sure you throw in different textures, patterns and accessories. Avoid anything with a logo on it.
DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH US?
If you have a prop or a pet you would like to feature in the shoot, no problem! It’s all about you. If it's cold or muddy - bring extra layers and a change of shoes. If you have little ones, bring food and wet wipes.
CAN I HAVE THE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT THROUGH SHORTLISTING?
As a rule, I only give clients images I deem to be fit for viewing. Once I have shortlisted the images, those are the ONLY ones that are edited and given to a client. I think long and hard about why I take and choose an image, which means there is always a very good reason for cutting the ones I do.
The reason every photographer does this is so that you receive the very best of their work. A professional musician would never release an album with mistakes in the recordings - and it's the same with photographers.
Most things are controllable - like aperture, shutter speed and positioning of subjects - but there are some things that photographers have no power over! And this results in a small number of unusable photographs.
WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO YOU PROVIDE FOR DISPLAYING MY IMAGES?
I use two great companies:
LOXLEY COLOUR who provide a huge range of gorgeous presentation products
WHY SHOULD WE HAVE A PRE-WEDDING SHOOT WHEN WE BOOK OUR WEDDING WITH YOU?
I offer 'pre wedding' shoots for a few reasons. One is so that you can get used to having your picture taken. I understand that it can be daunting to be in front of the camera and may not be something you've experienced before, so why not have a practice run before your big day to relieve some pressure! The second reason is that it is a great way for us to get to know each other. Meeting new people is my favourite part of my job and I find it helps to 'break the ice' before your big day. The last reason is for you to have the experience of seeing yourself in professional photographs before your big day. It can sometimes be a strange experience if you are usually camera shy or are not in the habbit of having your picture taken.
WHY DO YOU THINK 'BRIDE & GROOM PORTRAITS' ARE SO IMPORTANT AND WHY SHOULD WE MAKE TIME FOR THESE ON OUR BUSY WEDDING DAY?
I usually suggest setting aside somewhere between 20-60 minutes to go and take some relaxed portraits of you both. This is a great opportunity for you guys to catch your breath, have a drink, spend some time together alone and to soak up the fact that you've just got married! It is SO worth finding the time for these! In my experience, these are the images couples cherish and display the most - they are always favourites.
